Today’s post includes some favourite scenes taken in the course of the summer, thus far. There is no particular theme, other than I like them.
The first two were taken on a misty morning in Kananaskis Country, beginning with this picture taken at Spillway Lake before the fog had burned off. The only thing missing from this photograph is a moose grazing in the water.
I took this next one soon afterward, just a few kilometres away. The sun had crested the horizon to the east. The warmth was causing the fog to lift and the light was causing water droplets on the trees to sparkle. Very eye-catching.
The next picture was taken in the evening about two weeks ago at the Vermilion Lakes, near the Town of Banff. Great light that evening!
Staying with the reeds theme, I captured this next scene at the Mount Lorette Ponds in Kananaskis Country.
My final picture for today is one taken in the course of a recent helicopter flight to Mount Assiniboine to view the glaciers and of course, the mountain scenery along the route. I was accompanied by Rolande’s niece, Diane Graham, visiting us from the US. I think she liked it. We were treated to a slight variation in the usual flight path on this occasion, the Three Sisters Weave. The pilot flew his aircraft through the gaps between the Three Sisters mountains, offering us a unique view of them.
That’s it for today.
