Today’s post features a hotel located in San Jose Del Cabo, Baja California, Mexico. In the course of a recent trip to this area, our hosts Gail and Paul Murphy, took us to visit what they term “the White House”, a collection of white blocks constituting a very uniquely designed hotel complex. This photograph was taken from a walkway across a large pool, encircled by the cubic, white buildings that make up the hotel. It’s late afternoon and you can see the shadows of the buildings on the opposite side of the pool.
The central court area between the buildings also contains a unique dining area, a structure woven with branches that sits on a small islet in the pool. To take this picture, I was facing in the opposite direction to that of the previous photograph. The hotel’s rooms face inward toward the pool and some toward the beach beyond. The rooms are open-ended with a shade for privacy purposes.
I wasn’t alone in photographing this interesting architecture. I hope he turned around to capture the final moments of the beautiful sunset!
My last photograph is my favourite. The ultimate beach. Chaise lounges are aligned on a deck area above the beach below. They face outward toward the Sea of Cortez with the hotel’s pool behind them. A great view, a gentle breeze, the warm winter sun and no gritty sand in your picnic lunch. How good is that !
Wow! Very unique place. Especially like the smooth water reflections along with the sun’s rays
How striking and different. All are fascinating, but I agree, the last is favourite. Carol
