This is a picture taken about a year ago. I’ve been going through my archives looking for pictures that might have been overlooked earlier when I made choices to process them for posting or printing. I have processed this one before, using a high dynamic range approach. I felt I could improve on that one, so here it is.
Just a few dozen miles past Globe, AZ lies a giant cleft in the landscape, a 2,000-foot-deep river canyon that’s loaded with history and some of the most dramatic views ever seen from a car window.
The Salt River Canyon is sometimes called the mini-Grand Canyon, with its stark, sweeping vistas carved by millions of years of erosion.
