We had a beautiful spring day yesterday. I took advantage of this rare occurence to go out last evening to take some photographs at nearby Vermilion Lakes, just outside the Town of Banff.
This first scene was taken soon after 7:30, before getting the soft, warm light of the Golden Hour.
I took this next shot at 7:45, when I turned my attention to the southwest to get this picture of Eagle Mountain and Mount Howard Douglas. This is a 60 second exposure which smoothes out the ripples on the lake and blurs the clouds as they drift across the scene from left to right.
As daylight drew toward a close, I paused to enjoy the beautiful evening I was experiencing. Before packing up to go home, I took one more for the road.
It’s a more close in view of Mount Rundle. There was quite a few water fowl around while I was there, including these ducks. They’re feeding, heads down, tails up. Not the best pose they could have given me.
It was nice to get out, forget about coronavirus for awhile and enjoy the outdoors.
Beautiful! Love the colours!
A nice escape!!
