Vulture City
In a recent post, entitled Vulture City , I included two photographs that my friend Harv has since aptly named the “Wonky House”. In that post, I offered very little information about the house because I failed to find any. Thankfully, Harv found some information I overlooked. He discovered this image among some iPhone pictures he had taken while we were at Vulture City. So, we now know that the “Wonky House” has a formal name, “Miners’ Manor”.
The script of the sign reads;
This whimsical , multi-level mobile dwelling was built entirely from materials salvaged from Vulture City’s boneyard.
A collection of discarded nails, lumber, steel, tires and more.
Designed and created by Ray Villafame.
Miner’s Manor celebrates Vulture City’s past and is a true reflection of its colors.
While Miner’s Manor may be a relatively small dwelling, It houses the spirits of several buildings and structures that once adorned these historic grounds.
Here’s a stylized version of a photograph I took of the Manor. It’s a different view from those I included in the earlier post. I’ve applied a neural filter to change the image style to one that better portrays the “look” of the building I saw. The filter is an AI-driven filter from Photoshop’s catalog of neural filters, a Style Transfer filter. This filter applies an image style to the picture, intended to convey the character of the structure more realistically.
Thanks to Harv for his contribution of information on the Miners’ Mansion.
Great photo for sure!!
