After an overnight trip from Aruba, we arrived in Cartagena, Colombia on January 16th, our first port of call in South America. We were eager to see this coastal city, recalling the beautiful cinematography in the 1984 film Romancing the Stone. The movie featured actors Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito, upstaged by the beauty of the city. We were not disappointed by the scenery and we had the opportunity to learn some of the colourful history of one of the gems of the Spanish Empire.
My photos of Cartagena are too numerous to share in a blog post. I’ve chosen to create a slideshow, with a mix of shots from this gorgeous old city. There’s no particular theme to this slideshow, just some pictures that I particularly enjoy. Hope you do too. Click on the arrow to proceed.
