I had to search back through the files for today’s posting, two scenes from a trip we made to Prince Edward Island in the autumn of 2009. We were touring the Maritime Provinces when we visited family in PEI. My brother-in-law, Bert was my guide for a morning trip to Covehead Beach for some pictures of the sunrise. I got a number of pleasing shots that morning including the following lighthouse scene.
I was fortunate to have a sunrise with some interesting cloud patterns. The combination of the morning light and the scattered clouds makes a great backdrop for this beach scene.
Later in the same day, we traveled to the east end of the island where I got another lighthouse picture, this one near Panmure Island Provincial Park. I refer to this picture as the iconic Prince Edward Island scene and it’s one of my very favourites.
What could be more typical of PEI than this picture including a beach, a lighthouse and a clapboard sided building.
