These two shots were taken at the third Vermilion Lake, looking southwest. They feature three peaks (from l-r) Mount Howard Douglas, Eagle Mountain and Mount Bourgeau.
I have some difficulty in choosing a favourite between this and the following, similar photo. In this one, I really like the inclusion of the grasses and the wildflowers in the foreground.
I had to aim a little left to include the stump in this picture (always a good feature) but what I really like is the presence of the reflection on the water. This photo was taken about 13 minutes later than the first one. The sun is higher in the sky, illuminating more of the peaks and changing the extent of the reflection on the water.
Still no clear choice for a favourite. Perhaps I’ll do it again, using a wider angle lens or taking two shots I can combine into a panorama.
