Earlier this week, Rolande and I went out to Lake Louise and spent the night. Got some pictures in the morning morning before breakfast and thought I’d post a couple.
I was photographing the classic shot of the lake, with the Victoria Glacier in the background. It was very cloudy and the only colour in the sky was in the opposite direction. I was lucky to turn around and I got this short lived burst of colour before the clouds obscured the sun and the rain started to pour. This stream is the outlet of the lake. It’s called Louise Creek and it flows down to the bottom of the valley where it joins the Bow River.
Okay, here’s the view of the lake with the Victoria Glacier in the background. I took it from the bridge over the Louise Creek where it leaves the lake. It was pretty cloudy so I wasn’t able to get the full view of the mountains and glacier at the end of the lake.
Today’s last picture is of the Chateau Lake Louise, taken from the dock where they rent canoes.
A much-photographed site, Peter, but these are special!
Many thanks, Bob. I appreciate your observation; it is a challenge to do it a little differently.
Hi Peter,
Fabulous pics!
Hope you got back to the room before Rolande woke up so you could serve her coffee and??? in bed ???
Hope you both enjoyed a wonderful Anniversary Celebration!
Love,
Dave and Nancy
