A revisit to one of my favourite locations. Stopped here on the way home from the Kananaskis Lakes and was able to get a number of good shots. I’ve posted three of the better ones in today’s blog.
This first shot features Mount Kidd in the background and one of the pools in the foreground. No reflection of the mountain from this particular perspective, but I liked the composition and chose it over some others that I didn’t find as interesting. This area offers a lot of interesting elements for inclusion in the foreground. In this picture, I like the grasses, the stream bed and the dead tree to the left. An advantage of this location is its proximity to the highway. You can see it in the upper right hand corner. No lengthy hikes required to get a picture!
A close-up of another deceased tree. Part of the life cycle of the forest. In this case, new growth is abundant and doing its best to obscure the old tree. Our timing for a visit to this area was good; lots of wildflowers as well. Let’s wrap up with this picture of some Hairy False Goldenaster. What a name!
Hairy false goldenaster! C’mon!
Very nice photographs – I particularly like “old and new”.
Would you rather have the Latin name!
