One shot only in today’s post, the Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite National Park. I was fortunate to get the right light to capture this striking view of the waterfall.
Bridalveil Fall is famous for the mist that wafts off it when the breezes blow and which, according to the poetic, resembles a bridal veil. It’s the mist, combined with the position of the sun that enabled me to get this great rainbow.
In case you are wondering, the name as you see it is Bridalveil Fall, not an error on my part. I’ve noted that there are many “Bridal Veil Falls” at various locations in North America. Perhaps this spelling is an effort to distinguish Yosemite’s from the others. They also use the singular, fall for naming all the waterfalls in the park. Makes sense to me, since the term “waterfall” is singular and there are close to 50 other waterfalls in the park.
Great picture Peter. The colours are incredible.
Magnificent Photo Peter as are the earlier ones posted by you on the 23rd. It has made me more determined to visit, The National Parkes in North America are amazing. Certainly not next year as we will have our hands full building at Buderim. Perhaps Spring in 2013. Meet you both there?
