Earlier this year, I made two posts featuring pictures from my helicopter flight to Mount Assiniboine. As happens often, I overlooked one particularly good picture on my initial review of the many shots I took on that trip. I never know how some of the better ones get missed on first inspection, but they do!
I thought this one was sufficiently good that I should risk overdoing this area and post it anyway.
This picture is a panoramic view of Mount Assiniboine (3,618 m or 11,870 ft) on the far right and three adjacent peaks. Lunette Peak (3,400 m or 11,155 ft) is to the immediate left and from this angle, looks like it is part of Mount Assiniboine. Farther left and just past the centre of the photograph is Aye Mountain (3,243 m or 10,640 ft) and to the far left is Eon Mountain (3,338 m or 10951 ft). The distance from the peak of Mount Assiniboine to that of Eon Mountain is about 5 km (3 miles) to give you a sense of scale.
I’ll be visiting the area this July, when I hope to get some ground level views of these magnificent peaks.
NICE!
