After a miserable first week of weather following our return to Canmore, it has changed for the better with a dazzling weekend and a great start to the week, today. On both Sunday and today, I got out for some good walks around the town, taking advantage of the many walking paths. I was accompanied by Rolande on Sunday when we completed a circuit around the centre of town; today, I went eastward along the pathway that follows the Bow River into the Three Sisters area of Canmore.
The first picture was taken Sunday from the pathway along the south side of the Bow River, facing northeast. You can see some homes on the opposite bank of the river and further back at the base of Grotto Mountain, one of the peaks dominating the landscape on the north side of the valley.
My next picture was taken this afternoon from the River Walk, near Cairns Landing. From this location, I was looking back toward Canmore, along a side channel of the Bow River. Through the trees you can see the mountains that are directly behind our house, the Canmore Wall, Miners’ Peak and Ha Ling Peak.
I also took this next picture today, down the hill from our house on the flats near the river. I was looking back towards the west to get this shot of the Rundle Range, which borders the Bow Valley from Canmore to Banff.
I’ve put the remainder of my pictures from today and yesterday in a slideshow which follows. I’ve tried to show the mountains which surround Canmore from different perspectives. You’ll note that most pictures include the Bow River. It’s a prominent feature of our landscape, difficult to ignore. Simply click on the right side of the images to advance the slideshow. Hope you will enjoy.
Very nice pics! I’ll bet the glass of wine enhanced your photographic perspective??
Wine is the key,Nancy.
