This morning, accompanied by Stewart Hamilton and Bob Bear, I returned to the Cascade Ponds, a place I hadn’t visited in several years. This site is very accessible, just off the Trans Canada Highway at Banff. It’s actually a popular recreation site and doubles as a good photo location complete with views of Banff’s two most prominent peaks (Mt. Rundle and Cascade Mountain), the ponds, some bridges and lots of aspen trees.
I begin with a picture of Cascade Mountain. It looms over the area and I couldn’t easily get it all in the photo even with the 17-40 mm wide angle zoom lens I was using. So, I took three shots which I subsequently combined in this panoramic view.
I’ve put the remainder of today’s photos in a slideshow. Same instructions as always: click on the left of the photo to advance, on the right to go back.
We moved on from the Cascade Ponds to a location know as the Sawback Burn. I’ve shared photographs from that locations before, but on this trip I tried some new things. Watch for something different in my next post.
Nice Pics!
Great ad for Tim’s!
Must say breath taking!!! So far from this crazy city life your pictures make me escape for a little while.
Love the Tim Hortons cup in the first shot we don’t have many of those around here anymore.
