Today, I’ll sum up our recent trip to Ireland with a series of photographs taken at several locations we visited. We covered a lot of ground in the 10 days we were there, from the northeast corner of Northern Ireland to the Dingle Peninsula in the southwest corner of the Republic of Ireland. Our bus covered just short of 640 km (400 miles), a driving time of about 7 hours on good highways. We spent three nights in Belfast, four in Dublin and four at the Adare Manor in County Limerick. Our thanks to our driver and guide, Paul Ryan who kept us informed and entertained and who got us to our destinations safely and efficiently.
I’ve compiled these last photos in a larger than usual slideshow, hoping to provide a good sense of our experience. Scenes are included from the north coast of Northern Ireland near Portrush, from the cities of Belfast and Dublin, from the prehistoric tombs at Newgrange, from the ruins of an ancient monastery at Glendalough and finally from the Adare Manor.
