A week has passed since the ending of Canmore’s Great Flood of 2013. The weather is still a little unsettled, producing some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I returned home last evening at close to 10:00 PM and knew I had to photograph the sunset. I’m including two photographs taken from our rear deck, looking down the Bow Valley. The mountains shown in silhouette are Mount Rundle and Cascade Mountain.
This sunset followed a thunderstorm that passed through the area just earlier. What makes this sunset so dramatic is the light getting through between the horizon below and the cloud cover above. I like the reflections of the sunlight off the clouds, particularly in the first picture where it illuminates the peak of Cascade Mountain.
Angry looking sky!
