The sunset featured in today’s post was taken last evening from a vantage point on the nearby golf course. I’ve discovered that the open expanse of the golf course offers a good, unobstructed view of the horizon, no trees unless you choose to stand behind one!
I’ve included a series of photos beginning just before the sun sets and concluding once it has disappeared from view.
The pictures were taken using a standard lens, 24-70mm, f2.8. The aperture was set at f16 for good depth of focus and I used an ISO setting of 160. Focal lengths varied from 45-60 mm. I used two graduated, neutral density filters to balance the exposure between the foreground and the sky, a 2-stop and 4-stop filter. The shutter speeds varied from 1.3 to 10 seconds, increasing as the sun dipped further in the sky.
Ahhh sunsets….love them Peter.
Thanks
Helen
