I’ve been trying to appreciate black and white photography a little more. I’ve been experimenting with some software that includes a very good module for converting colour pictures to black and white.
Today, I’m presenting a few pictures from my archive that I’ve chosen as good subjects for conversion. I’m not trying to be Ansel Adams, but I did use a couple of the same subjects from Yosemite NP. A good subject is a good subject.
I begin with the iconic El Capitan, a majestic cliff in Yosemite that I photographed in 2011.
I also used this next picture from Yosemite, taken on the same occasion. It’s called Tunnel View and its the first glimpse you get of the park as you emerge from the Wawoma Tunnel, arriving from the west.
My final picture is one taken last year near Page, Arizona. It’s a favourite of mine, Horseshoe Bend, a turn in the Colorado River a few miles upstream from the Grand Canyon.
