In the course of our recent travels in Kananaskis Country, we came across this mother moose and her offspring. Curiously, I have been in this same location many times over the last 10-12 years and never have I seen a moose before. That is surprising because it’s a large marshy area, ideally suited for moose; the perfect definition of moose pasture.
This photo was taken from a distance of about 50 metres (55 yards), using a 70-200mm telephoto lens, with a 1.4x extender. Settings were 1/250 sec @f8.0, ISO 400 and an effective focal length of 280 mm.
Fabulous pic!
Perfect setting for Mom and baby.
