Today’s weather was very compelling. The temperature reached 20 deg C (68 deg F) and the sky was mostly clear with some broken cloud. It was ideal weather for capturing the splendour of autumn in K-Country, just east of Canmore. After traveling east on the Trans Canada Highway, I turned south on Highway 40 into the Kananaskis Valley. I meandered along the highway, stopping at spots I wished to photograph. I spent about 5 hours and I was able to capture some pleasing scenes. There were several I had photographed before and some new locations. I don’t mind repeating a picture I’ve taken before because the light is never quite the same and I strive to take the picture from a new vantage point. So, in my mind, it’s a new picture.
I’ve put my favourites from today in a slideshow. As always, click on the first photo to start the show, then click on the right to advance and on the left to reverse direction. Please enjoy the fall colours in Canada’s Rocky Mountains.
Some gorgeous shots, Peter!
