This past year has been a good one for photography. I was able to take photographs at a number of locations in Canada, the United States and Europe. I was a pretty active blogger as well, registering 68 posts in the course of the year. Those posts attracted 4,300 visits from 1,800 visitors, representing 46 countries in 2015. The most visits were from Canada (2,600), followed by those from the United States (1,200) and Australia (250). Of course, this doesn’t begin to compare to the visits on the average teenager’s Facebook page but I’m gratified that people do take the time to look at my photographs. I send out email alerts to 70 followers with each blog that I post. Today, I thank all my loyal followers who’ve taken an interest in my photography since I began posting my blog almost 6 years ago.
At the end of each year, I compile a collection of my favourites for the year, typically 40-50 pictures. For the past 4 years, I’ve published them in annual books that I like to look back upon from time to time. This year’s collection has been compiled, the book completed and it’s now ready to go to the publisher. For the first time, I’m going to share those favourites in a blog. Today’s post is a presentation of those photos in the form of a slideshow. The slideshow is an mp4 video, accessible from a link in the covering email.
The photographs included in the video are in chronological order and cover every season of the year 2015. Pictures were taken in Toronto; Grand Cayman; Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Sedona (Arizona); Monument Valley and Canyonlands NP (Utah); Waterton Lakes NP, Canmore, Banff NP and Kananaskis Country (Alberta); Austria; Germany; Czech Republic; Kootenay NP (British Columbia); and Haida Gwai (formerly Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia.)
Hope you enjoy the slideshow. Best wishes for 2016.
Dear Pete
Really enjoyed this blog. Photographs and music fit together perfectly.
Time for you to go back to work and pursue your ‘real’ calling. Well done!
